FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is a vehicle wrap?

Wraps come in all different shapes & sizes. Wraps start as large sheets of adhesive backed vinyl film designed specifically for vehicle application made available in a variety of styles & finishes. Some wraps are a full color change in matte, satin or gloss finishes, as well as chrome, ìcarbon fiberî look, and beyond. Vinyl can also be installed as ìaccentsî on vehicle features like trim, spoilers, hoods, roofs, and trunks. Truly, the possibilities are endless; recent advancements in vinyl production technology has also opened up the possibilities to textured vehicle wraps like leather, alligator, snake skin, or holographic & 3D films!

How much do vehicle wraps cost?

Every vehicle & application is different, so price really depends on the scope of your vehicle wrap project. Gloss, satin, and matte vinyl wraps are typically the cheapest whereas chrome vinyl wraps are the most expensive. Additionally, coverage options such as including door jambs, door sills, etc will add more cost to the wrap. For this reason we suggest stopping by the shop to go over the various options we can do for your vehicle. Just to give a general idea of cost, a 2014 Subaru BRZ wrapped in matte black without door jambs would cost $2500.

Can you install my vinyl for me?

Typically we donít install any film weíre not already stocking. There are a lot of poor quality films out there that arenít designed for vehicle wrap applications, so if you want help making a selection just contact us for a recommendation!

Does a vehicle wrap damage your paint?

No, a vinyl wrap installed over factory paint can be removed using proper techniques without damaging your paint. Vehicles with previous paint repair, if not repaired properly, can potentially have clearcoat or paint lift upon vinyl removal. If this did occur, it would be due to the repaired paint and not the vinyl wrap installation.

Can you wrap unpainted or primed vehicles or body components?

Painted surfaces provide optimal adhesion for vehicle wraps. Although we can wrap unpainted or primed surfaces, we do not assume any liability for failure as the various textures and surfaces of unpainted parts can affect the longevity of the install.

How do I care for my vinyl wrap?

Proper wrap care starts with the basics. Keeping your vehicleís surface clean is the primary concern, so frequent hand washing to eliminate surface contaminates is necessary if you want to keep your wrap from getting stained or damaged from road grime. We recommend a CQuartz Proffesional application on all vehicle wraps (at an added cost). The CQuartz ceramic coating will help with washing and reduce any chances for staining or contaminant buildup on the vinyl.

Will a wrap protect my vehicle?

Most wrap films are 2-4 MILS thick. By comparison, Clear Car Armor paint protection is 7-9mils thick. So although vinyl wraps do provide some protection for you paint, they still are susceptible to damage from rocks and debris. For vinyls that can be covered with Clear Armor, we recommend covering at least the front end in the paint protection film (at an added cost). This will keep the vinyl safe from rock chips.

What types/brands of vinyl do you have?

We typically donít stock much vinyl other than what is necessary for current projects.
Since we work with such a diverse range of clientele with a wide array of tastes and styles, we install just about every type of film on the market (and some custom ones too!) 3M, Avery, Oracal, Hexus, KPMF, you name it, weíve used it. If there is a specific film you want to use, let us know and we'll find it for your vehicle at the best price available.

How long does a vehicle wrap take to install?

Vinyl installation times vary depending on the job. Stripes, graphics & accent pieces can typically be completed in 24 ñ 72 hours, but exterior wraps or full color changes with door jambs will take considerably longer. If you're on a deadline or want to expedite your install, just let us know what the time frame is and we'll factor it in when we set up your appointment.
